Iran urges courts to show 'no leniency' for 'rioters' as deadly protests persist
The head of Iran's judiciary on Monday said he instructed prosecutors and the courts to offer "no leniency" to "rioters" after more than a week of protests across the country, sparked by a strike among Tehran's shopkeepers over soaring prices. At least 12 people have been killed in clashes, with US President Donald Trump vowing to hit Iran "very hard" if the authorities kill more demonstrators.
