The couple hosted their wedding celebration on Friday in New York City, nearly three years after first meeting. “Taylor + Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man,” a Swift spokesperson said Friday, confirming the nuptials. “The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.” The wedding was held at Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan, where screens outside the venue displayed a celebratory message around 7.20pm local time: “JUST&T MARRIED!” According to Swift’s spokesperson, both Swift and Kelce wore Christian Dior couture designed by Jonathan Anderson. An array of celebrities were seen en route to the venue in formal wear Friday afternoon, including pop singer Ed Sheeran, model Gigi Hadid, actress and writer Lena Dunham, actors Hugh Grant, Bradley Cooper and Ethan Hawke, frequent Swift producer Jack Antonoff and NFL stars Cooper Kupp and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Also spotted were close members of Swift’s inner circle, including longtime publicist Tree Paine and childhood best friend Abigail Anderson Berard. Stevie Nicks, whom Swift has cited as a mentor, was reportedly slated to perform at the celebration. Permits obtained by various media outlets ahead of the wedding indicated as many as 1,000 guests were in attendance. Security was tight around the arena in the leadup to the wedding, with many nearby streets closed to vehicular traffic. Nevertheless, hordes of fans gathered as close as they could to the venue, braving sweltering heat to have a glimpse at what has been described as “America’s royal wedding”. “It’s a nice that she is doing it here and connecting with her life in New York because it’s so special to her,” Gray O’Sullivan, an 18-year-old fan, told the Guardian on Friday.
