Trump casts doubts about Maria Corina Machado to run Venezuela

Venezuela's armed forces have been deployed across the country to ensure the protection of national sovereignty, Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino said Sunday, adding that many of Maduro’s security team were killed in the operation on Saturday that saw president Nicolas Maduro captured by US forces. Earlier, US President Donald Trump said Washington would run Venezuela until there can be a proper, “safe” transition, sparking fears of a power vacuum.
