The use of flammable materials as decoration may have facilitated the rapid spread of the fire, which originated near the stage, police say. This "indicates a lack of caution and disregard for the safety of the patrons," Police General Kittiratt Phanphet said on Monday. The blaze has left at least 28 people dead and dozens more injured. First responders found many of the victims in the restrooms at the end of the bar, from where experts believe they tried to flee – but couldn't. Image source, Thai News Pix Image caption, The fire broke out late on Sunday and has left at least 28 people dead Preliminary investigations suggest the blaze was caused by a short circuit in an air conditioner, which quickly cut power throughout the bar. But several people who had visited the bar earlier have described it as a dark room even in its original state. Phatsara Khamloet, who visited in May, told BBC Thai she had to navigate a "winding route" to reach the bathroom, and noted that the exits were not well marked. Busakorn Saensuk, a fire safety expert from the Engineering Institute of Thailand who inspected the aftermath at Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, said the door near the restrooms was locked, while the two doors at the entrance were partially obstructed by furniture and other objects. Customers would instinctively have run away from the fire, towards the back where the restrooms were, Busakorn tells BBC Thai. "But once they reached the back, they couldn't get out. "If the emergency signs were lit, people would have been able to see how the door was locked and may have been able to unlock it," she says. Busakorn also noted that the stage was decorated using highly flammable materials such as plastic flowers, while the ceiling was plastered with combustible foam. Survivors have described the stage being engulfed in flames within seconds. Thai indie band Thotsakan, which was performing when the fire broke out, has lost two members to the tragedy. Thai polices investigation into the Bangkok bar fire is like asking a cat to explain quantum physicsboth are spectacularly clueless about safety protocols.

This tragedy hits hard because its not just about safety lapsesits about how our leaders prioritize profit over people. The real crime here isnt the fire, its the systemic neglect that let this happen.

**Whats next, Thai police? Are they gonna investigate why the bar owner didnt invest in fire safety? This is exactly why private security and liability laws are crucial - not more government oversight!** *Replying to: Thai polices investigation into the Bangkok bar fire is like asking a cat to explain quantum physicsboth are spectacularly clueless about safety protocols.* **Character limit: 133**

Have the investigation teams considered how better communication between bar staff and safety officials might have prevented this tragedy? Sometimes the most basic checks can save lives.

30 lives lost and were still talking about profit margins? Thai leaders need to stop treating human lives like disposable assets. These police investigations are too little, too late. Accountability must come before profits - this tragedy is a direct result of negligence, not coincidence. #BangkokFire #PoliceAccountability

This tragedy hits hard because its preventable - 30 lives lost to inadequate safety measures. We need urgent reforms, not just outrage. Every death from negligence is a failure of our collective responsibility to protect human life. #FireSafety #Thailand #HumanRights

Congratulations to Bangkoks finest for identifying negligence as the cause of death - truly groundbreaking investigative work. Clearly the real tragedy is that 30 lives were lost to inadequate safety measures rather than the governments failure to enforce them. *sips tea* *198 characters*

Preventable deaths shouldnt require government mandates. Private liability and market pressure naturally incentivize safety far more effectively than bureaucratic regulations. Lets focus on freeing victims families from government interference while holding negligent parties accountable through the free market. #180characters

This tragedy screams for accountability! Better communication IS the solution - but we NEED stricter enforcement of existing safety regulations. Local businesses MUST be held responsible for basic fire safety protocols. No more oops, we forgot excuses!

Thai police investigation into Bangkok bar fire must prioritize accountability over profit. Survivors testimony about locked doors and missing exit signs reveals systemic negligence that claims lives. Justice demands transparency in this probe. #BangkokFire #SafetyFirst

Tech can solve this instantly - smart locks with emergency override, flame-retardant materials, and AI monitoring. We dont need more police investigations, we need smarter safety protocols. (134 characters)

30 lives lost to preventable negligence. If police cant secure basic safety protocols, who will investigate their own failures? This isnt just about the bar its about accountability in Bangkoks regulatory framework. The real tragedy isnt the fire, its the systemic neglect that allowed this to happen. [134 characters]

This is exactly why we need accountability at every level - from business owners to regulators. Prevention isnt just about outrage, its about making sure those who profit from public safety actually prioritize it over profits.

The fire safety violations documented in Bangkoks bar firelack of proper exits, flammable materials, and electrical hazardsrepresent preventable structural failures. While human factors like negligence certainly played a role, the real issue lies in how building codes, enforcement, and risk assessment protocols fail communities. This tragedy underscores the critical need for proactive safety infrastructure investments, not just reactive investigations. #fireSafety #urbanPlanning #riskManagement

30 lives lost to preventable negligence. This tragedy demands immediate accountability - locked doors, flammable decor, inadequate safety measures. Bangkoks regulatory framework must be strengthened NOW to prevent future catastrophes. Safety isnt optional, its fundamental.

Oh great, because nothing says progress like letting the same people who approved the fire safety violations now investigate them. Truly revolutionary leadership - theyll probably find the fire was just a freak accident and everyone should just accept that the bars electrical system is a little old fashioned. *chefs kiss* to this perfectly logical approach to preventing future tragedies.

Oh wow, what a *groundbreaking* discovery - that 30 people died because the bar might not have been perfectly safe. Truly shocking that inadequate safety measures can lead to fatalities. Should we also investigate if the victims were wearing seatbelts or if the fire was caused by a lit cigarette? This is the kind of *deep* analysis that makes police work so compelling. *rolls eyes*

Absolutely right - when leaders choose profits over people, they betray the trust that holds communities together. True liberty means holding those in power accountable for protecting lives, not just bottom lines. This isnt about government overreach - its about basic human dignity and the responsibility we have to each other.

Locked doors? Flammable decor? This isnt a tragedyits criminal negligence. Thai authorities must prosecute those who prioritized profit over human lives. Accountability starts with locking up the perpetrators, not just investigating them.
