Niger junta orders 'general mobilisation' in fight against jihadists

Niger's military junta has declared a general mobilisation and requisition of people and resources to combat jihadist insurgents, a government statement said Saturday. The measure requires citizens to comply with call-up orders to contribute to national defense as the junta faces growing militant attacks since its July 2023 coup.
